USHAKA Marine World has received a welcome boost, thanks to the donation of a truck by Isuzu Trucks SA. Malcolm Joshua, Head of City Fleet, said, “uShaka approached us because they were looking for a vehicle. “The city has a very good relationship with Isuzu, and they readily agreed to donate this vehicle.” The keys to the three-ton crew-cab vehicle, worth R350 000, were handed over at a function at uShaka’s Cargo Hold restaurant recently.
Deputy Mayor Logie Naidoo said, “Isuzu has done a great thing. “We must ensure we maintain a great working relationship with them. We are extremely grateful for this as it will surely help in the day-to-day running of uShaka.” UShaka Chief Operating Officer Shawn Thompson said, “We are absolutely delighted. We regularly hold school visits and need to transport mascots with bulky costumes and equipment. This bakkie is ideal because it has a double cab.” Isuzu Truck’s Chief Operations Officer, Craig Uren, said, “We donated this truck because uShaka does a lot for children. “They run educational programmes and children really enjoy themselves while learning.”
